Tylecodon singularis

Just how big do these tubers grow? This is one of several similar tubers I have from a 2018 sowing. Not yet watered but just starting to grow.

Re: What is your Max / Min temperature in the GREENHOUSE?

It got a bit hot in the propagator, the heat sensor is buried in the compost and set at 30 degrees.

It could be, this is my older plant.

your plant looks like a cutting, similar to this one.

If it sends down bright red roots from each leaf axil, then it is definitely C tuberosa.

Re: First of the year

My obducta is about a week behind Mike's, and is one of several that are nature pollinated.

Re: Sterilisation of compost?

I would suggest that in the great bulk of cases, trying to grow Aztekium, Blossfeldia, Strombocactus, quite a few choice mesembs, and the like, in unsterlised composts, would be more than a challenge. I wouldn't agree entirely. These are 1 year old seedlings of Strombocactus disciformis from my own...

Re: Mams in flower

Mammillaria shiedeana ssp. giselae monstrose, a lot of buds and flowers on many heads; they won't all open at the same time. Growing quite happily in pure lava rock rather than the fertile soils rich in dark organic material in the wild.

Standing on it’s head

Upside down germination. Obviously thinks it has germinated in it’s home country of Madagascar. Didierea.
