Re: new book “TAXONOMY of the CACTACEAE” by Joël Lodé
On the other hand I'm sure there'll be some new combinations and splitting people won't be happy about in this book too I don't think there will be any new names in the book. Like Hunt et al. did with Cactaceae Systematics Initiatives, all the new names have been published in advance - only in Cact...

Re: Found whilst browsing the Web
I've finally gotten around to reading that paper and it's definitely interesting. Quite how solid their methods are is difficult for me personally to comment on as I have no idea about how the methods that they use work, or why they've chosen those particular methods, and exactly how they've applied...

Re: new book “TAXONOMY of the CACTACEAE” by Joël Lodé
I passed on one DNA classification link to Joel Lode and he emailed me this reply:- "Thank you for the information anyway, I never know if there is a new work appearing after the edition of my book, which is finished and closed now. In fact a great part of my work is based on these molecular w...

The book certainly looks very interesting! Will have to consider whether or not to splash out on it. I suppose for the sheer size of it the price is fair.
I like the splitting of the book into volumes arranged alphabetically with text and images in both instead of the way it was done in the NCL.

Oh, if you're interested by the way, I updated my blog today with some images of the Pseudolithos cubiformis that I sowed, in bloom.

Re: New member from Norway
a walk-in-closet  Good call! Why does one need 90 pairs of shoes and 40 hand bags. Better to use the space for 20 forms of Mitrophyllum grande and 40 forms of Echinocactus horizonthalonius...! I know, right! I quickly read your blog. Where have you obtained the seeds of Pseudolithos cubi...

New member from Norway
Hi everyone! I'm a 31 year old man from Norway, and I've been growing mainly cacti (but also other succulents) for 24 years now. At just 13 I got my second greenhouse and had a sizeable collection. But upon discovering in my teens that there were cooler things in a girl's mind than a boy collecting ...

Re: New ariocarpus - Id ?
It's definitely a 'lloydii' or ssp./var. or whatever you want to call it
With the big tubercles it looks like it may be the cultivar described as lloydii var. major (as far as I know plants with such big tubercles haven't been located in habitat).
