I ate a wild Opuntia fruit once, I would probably have eaten more if it wasn't a hassle making sure that all the glochids are removed. The taste was pretty good.

Also tasted a piece of Dactylopsis once and that tasted pickle-ish.

I finally remembered to take a picture of this specimen for ID. I believe it is E. submammillaris, correct?

Yeah, a lot of plants from garden centres have a "not for consumption" tag, I guess it's mandatory.
Probably just in case some genius eats a poisonous plant, gets sick and goes to court with it, blaming the garden centre :roll:

I have about sixty-seventy (not sure) different Euphorbia species that have survived several winters in my room, with a minimum of 2°C for only a few days, and 5°C for longer periods of time. E. obesa is one of them. They are of course kept dry. Downside is that I lose a lot of new plants because I ...

that growth on the luetzlburgii's sure is weird! Coleocephalocereus purpureus is awesome too, and some nice Micranthocereus I see. I used to ignore everything with "-cereus-" on seedlists, but it seems there are some very neat plants amongst them that aren't just boring columnars (no offen...
