Re: Succulents in decline?
I am a succulent collector :) I have mostly eheveria, Agave and Haworthia. I am not a cactus fan. I think succulents are growing in popularity rather than declining. This forum is 'maybe' used more by cactus collectors than succulent collectors? Or maybe people are just a 'little' unsure about posti...

Re: CITES help please
I did email DEFRA and it is £78 for a licence to import them per consignment, then if you decide to sell excess it is a further fee..... A little bit expensive for a few seeds.

Re: CITES help please

Clarke brunt used to have seeds regularly from his plants That is good news Tina. I am sure I read they were monocarpic. LOL well that solves a problem...

Re: CITES help please
Thanks Terry.
I already have a few plants. I have been growing them from seed for the last three years. I am aware they are monocarpic, so wanted to grow them every year. That way I would always have replacements after the oldest ones flower.

Re: CITES help please
Thank you. I was going to order Aloe polyphylla seeds. They are in appendix 1. I am assuming this means I need to get a certificate to import?

CITES help please
I have been in contact with Silverhill seeds this week. Ondine has emailed me saying " I am having to get a CITES permit to export, you might need to get a CITES permit to import" I have had a quick look on Defra website and I am not sure if, or even which type of permit would be needed. H...

Re: Greenhouse V Polytunnel
Yes... Our current tunnel is from Northern and about 5 years old. Its a 14ft x 30ft. With regards to wind, we do get wind generally from the SW and our polytunnel side is facing that way. So definitely wrong for air flow, but we have learnt a lot :) The next tunnels will also be from Northern with m...

Re: Greenhouse V Polytunnel
Wow, how did it get that hot? Are we talking centigrade? Ours was up last year in the really hot summer. It is in full sun all day and ours got nowhere near that hot. Professional polytunnel covering is a little better at uv light transmission and a bit better at insulation, obviously I'm not tryin...
