Re: Tomato,Potato, Senicio, Kleinia
I have always prefered to use Senecio, but looking at it logically, I suppose there is sufficient floral variation within the succulent Senecios to suggest a division. I'm thinking of all those with a heterogamous capitulum and disc florets which appear to be more like our garden Senecios (fl...

Re: Tomato,Potato, Senicio, Kleinia
what I happily took for a Senecio became a Kleinia
Well, mine are still Senecios. You can consider it either a Kleinia or a Senecio, I find it easier to class them all as Senecios.
And if that wasn't enough, the change in the family name gives us a latinised sex change
...
I am just hoping it does not require too much winter heat seeing as it comes from Zambia and Tanzania!
I kept mine at about 8C. It was fine for 5 winters but rotted last winter. I'm trying to reroot the bits I saved.

Re: A little help required please
I just did a quick google on Euphorbia ephedroides v. debilis, not many images on the net, but when I found one it was quite different, just a smooth twiggy thing.
I didn't find any images - it was just the closest name I could find. Re: A little help required please

I have a similar plant labeled as Euphorbia debilis, although looking round the web it seems it should be called Euphorbia ephedroides v. debilis.
I'm afraid I don't know this plant, but looks more like a Senecio than a sedum IMHO.
It looks like Senecio muirii.

Re: photos from kew private collection

I think the Senecio (or Kleinia if you prefer) shown above is wrongly labelled. It looks more like Senecio mweroensis ssp. saginatus (Kleinia saginata) - upright, fatter stem, shorter "spiders", branching at the top. The one below it looks like Senecio pendulus (Kleinia pendula) - pendulou...
