Hi, What a smashing plant, but I am afraid that it is not Rooksbeya, that has a much fuller flower and does not have the scales on the outside of the flower stem, I believe the plant you saw was Pachycereus pringlii. Are there any restrictions on bringing these things back into the country? I understand that you can bring 5 plants per person from the Canaries. http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Sustainable-gardening/pdfs/c_and_e_abroad They sell cacti at the airports too. Thanks for this! Cactus ID?

Just back from Lanzarote (photos of my trip another day!), I was wondering what this cactus is that I bought (without a label) at the Flower Power garden centre in Macher (worth a visit if you're in the area).
