I too like 'Olga 2' with her prickly ring but I'd call that an annulus since I'm a stickler for technicalities as you well know.

Also that's one hybrid I'd save from composting.

Huernia thuretii

I think this sp. has featured earlier here, but not in such an attractive pot.   tempImagevjZT0l.gif The pot is one of my favourites since the surface texture mimics rock. This clone is flowering for the first time for me. It is ISI 1092 distributed in 1978, first collected by Alo...

Hi everyone, As promised, the results of my endeavours...(as it's an image file and I think the forum software shrinks images slighty, you may have to zoom your page to make out the text) https://i.ibb.co/6rZxQsc/The-secrets-and-science-of-succulents.jpg Had I more time (ideally I should have got m...

Re: New IKEA cacti

Hi Colin, Your Pilo pachycladus really is big enough to flower now, in fact Tony thinks 1m is tall enough. Morawetzianus really does not need to be that tall, there is a tendency for the tallest stem to fall over and then the plants shoots from the base or along the stem and should begin to get mor...

A cutting from an old rescued-plant from a few years ago (originally labelled as Haag. aureispinus (sic) which it clearly isn't) has just flowered. Main stem is ca. 9 inches tall. Comments please. (Sorry about the fuzzy photos - iPhone not giving me the right focal point/depth of field today.) IMG_...

Re: Aloe tewoldei

Suzanne, Mike is suggesting that you have his A. trichosantha . Is that true and if so, is it still with you and has it ever flowered? This is one only c. 20 Aloe spp. that have hairy/pubescent/tomentose flowers, hence its name. The only one of this group I've flowered is A. tomentosa , but that's a...
