Didymaotus seedlings
I sowed these in April, and nothing happened for a couple of months, then in June they started appearing - 7 of them. They are supposed to be difficult in cultivation, I have little idea on what to do with them! I'm hoping Tom will come along with some of his excellent advice! [attachment 12974 IMG_...

Re: Forby seedlings
...and these are two E. gymnocalycioides , grown from Kohres' seed, same age as above, one is really taking off, the other seems to be biding its' time! I'm really pleased with these, I do have a larger seedling that I sowed in 2006, so they are not impossible to grow, but they need a little bit ext...

Re: Comparisons
Here's another comparison... Conophytum concavum , a lovely peach fuzzed species just beginning to break out. The one on the left is from seed that I must have got from the MSG, C. concavum F2, showing a beautiful purple colour, (I believe steve Hammer did a bit of breeding with these, maybe that's ...

Comparisons
It's interesting to see the differences between plants of the same species. This shot shows Astrophytum capricorne ssp. crassispinoides , two plants grown from seed in 2003. One has a paler green body, and white spination, with pure yellow flowers, the other has a darker body, the flocking is browni...

Re: Degraft and regraft?
No, not strange at all, Hob! I too, have the white form, and a yellow one, while hubby has an orange one!
I keep meaning to cross them all, and see what comes up! But I have better things to do with the space they would take up LOL!!

Re: Degraft and regraft?
And still on Hylocereus stock, Hob? I'd be tempted to chop it off and root it! As a matter of fact, my R. krainziana (a nice large clump) was looking very peaky recently, so I removed a lot of offsets, and have rooted them down. I find that this species can go downhill, after it gets to a certain si...

Re: Neohenricia pot
Those are really splendid, Rogan! A few years ago, herb/strawberry planters seemed to be the fashionable thing, you could do the same with those.

Re: fertilization
That was very interesting to read, it shows that even within certain species, some are fertile, while others are not. Many Mammillarias form seedpods readily, but they are never the choice ones!
