Re: A Delosperma?

Thank you Brian, of course you are right, it is cooperi not copperi. Lampranthus then. There are lots of 'Mesembs' growing and flowering here, not only in gardens, also as ground-cover in public green (mostly Malephora and Carpobrotus ) and many different genera in front gardens in the mountains. Us...

A Delosperma?

I got a few pieces of this stunning magenta-purple (?) Delosperma . I always get confused when looking at these look-alike Mesembrianthemaceae . It is not a trailing species (if it is a species at all) but an upright bush - 50cm - so it doesn't seem to be D. copperi , but I'm not sure at all. Anybod...

Re: April - The best yellow flower

Last yellow flower from me, shot today. Seems to be a hybrid, for the fruit is big and deep red:

Re: April - The best yellow flower

Euphorbia cf. lamarckii, a somehow different yellow 'flower', mostly overseen, more so when growing between big, yellow flowered Opuntia. Flowering right now.

Three Opuntia photographs

Oh wow! This place has changed a lot! (Have been away a long time ... too.) Like it. So, I went for a little stroll at 'my hill' and as almost always found some surprising plants and growths. These I wanted to share with you: 1 Opuntia.JPG A strange growth, which must several years old, on top of a ...

Re: Dorstenia foetida

I never actually have managed to see seed or to catch the moment previous to seed release, but today, while cleaning, I found the first seedling - it can't deny it's provenance! Already a hypocotyl-succulence!

Re: Lithops flowers after sunset

Thank you for the photographs, Ian! My plant does look a lot like these ... The measures are: 32mm x 22mm fissure 12 mm hight: 20mm 28mm x 17mm fissure 9mm hight 15mm both flowers 31mm (increase day by day) The hight is of course just anecdotal, as the lack of sufficient light in the store can make ...

Re: Lithops flowers after sunset

OK, just found the 'old' post from 09 concerning the reintroduction of L. werneri and it's similarities to gracilidelineata, pseudotruncatella and ruschiorum.

Just the dimensions are wrong - this new plant is BIG.
