Good progress of Lithops

I'm really pleased with my Lithops seedlings. This is the first year I've sown seeds of this genus. They were sown in February in 2 inch pots and began germinating in March. There is some nice variation of markings in dorotheae, hallii and marmorata. Two of the dorotheae seedlings have yet to break ...

Re: Cacti of Northern Chile

Thanks for your replies. The Eriosyce islayensis looks like it could be an interesting plant to grow, I'll have a look out for it, maybe there will be one at ELK next week. The Tephrocactus also. Re: Found cactus id please

Thanks Anders and Dan for correctly identifying the plant. You should aim for about a 5cm larger pot than the diameter of the plant, ie a clearance of about 2½cm all round.

Re: Found cactus id please

It could be an Echinocereus or an Echinopsis and it looks like it needs repotting in a slightly larger pot.

Re: Mealy bug

When the same plant keeps getting infested, it is easy to think it may taste nicer to the bugs. Equally likely, you just never cleared it completely the last time you noticed. Six months later, you think you have a fresh infestation and it is really just the same one. This particular one the bugs w...

Re: Hello newbie requesting photo id if possible

It looks like a Gymnocalycium (not sure what species) that has been grafted onto a different rootstock.

Re: What's wrong with my cactus?

A photo would be very useful. Steven. It's difficult to make any diagnosis without seeing the damage.
