Re: Late seed lists etc
I think the forms for associate members are posted slightly later; my mum got hers Friday I think. But we put in a combined order using my form anyway. I'm not sure why there isn't a joint membership option like pretty much every other society has. I heard that it will be possible to order online ne...

Re: Hairy and Hirsute
There are some amazing plant photos posted so far. This is a cristate Echeveria I spotted in a row of non-crested plants. I don't usually grow Echeverias but it intrigued me, so I thought I'd give it a go and see how it grew. It was unlabelled but appears to be E. 'Bombycina' or E. setosa. echeveria...

Re: Massonia
My Massonia depressa bulbs looked like this about a month ago and I decided to split them because the biggest bud was on the middle plant completely hidden by a leaf. It's just starting to open now.

Re: Pesticide for killing thrips
I'm trying to figure out where they've gone next. I've spotted some under the leaves of a Ludisia orchid in the living room but that's it so far.

Re: Confused Cacti
My Rebutia muscula has a bud still to open so I'm wondering if I might get a December flower on it this year.

Re: Pesticide for killing thrips
I thought my Dioscorea on the living room windowsill had red spider mite, but I spotted some thrips under the leaves. Maybe this is why I've never noticed them before, if I've just always assumed they were red spider mite. I only spotted a few though and the plant has very damaged foliage so I assum...

Re: blotchy Haemanthus leaves - another virus?
Thank you. Hopefully I've spotted it before it spread to anything else, it hadn't been in my greenhouse long. And I'm glad I realised before I handed out virus infected plants to everyone!

Re: Pesticide for killing thrips
I've had it growing as a houseplant so I wouldn't have thought it would get particularly cold. I have another Lepismium (bolivianum) which recently had its growing point turn black, so maybe the room is colder than I think. The growing points of the L. houletianum aren't marked though, although they...

blotchy Haemanthus leaves - another virus?
I was given a large Haemanthus albiflos plant to divide and bring to the next branch meeting, however, I'm concerned that a few of the bulbs have blotchy leaves. Does anyone know what has caused this? The leaves underneath the ones in the photos are plain green. I searched for pictures of Haemanthus...
