Hi fruit,
That plant is definitely not m. compressa. My suggestion of m. rekoi was for the susp. leptacantha, which is a name given to it for it's long slender spines.

Re: A good day indeed!
Green coloured greenhouses are only ordinary aluminium ones powder coated Ian, so why not buy a can of green Hammerite and afford a bigger plain aluminium greenhouse for your money? Even if the paint eventually chips it can easily be touched up and the metal underneath will not rust anyway! Usually...

Hi AnTTun,
M. compressa. Normally magnimmama has a long curved central spine, which is lacking in your plant.

Re: Mamm. albilanata
Hi Eric, Re-pot it and try and upright the main stem back to vertical and give it some temporary support, making sure to allow the offset daylight in doing so. You may need to tease some roots before it sits well in the pot. Adding some larger pebbles around the base also helps to stabilize it. In t...

Hi Dunlin, If you do have the abundance of wool that you describe then it is possible to literally comb the "hair" with care. This will take out any matting and dirt that accumulates and over time it will look much better. If you wanted to go one step further you can also make up a weak so...

Re: Notocactus poorly
I would personally take the plant out and check the roots first. If they appear to be healthy white ones, then re-pot into a slightly smaller size pot than the one it's currently in. Take away as much of the compost that's around the plant, as it appears to be quite wet and not much better than gard...

It seems like almost 2 years ago when David Hunt came on here and asked if forum member's who still wished to subscribe to his writings on the above subject, register again. He said that his workload at the time was still heavy and would get another edition out as soon as possible. Has anybody had t...

It was I Al.
I would also like to thank Lynn, Bills wife, who gratefully allowed us to hold the auction at Glenfield Road. It must have been a sad and moving day for her and a happy one as well, knowing that Bill's plants were all going to good homes.

Hi,
I may be wrong but plant no.6, which is m. hahniana, from your photo appears to have mealy bug around the centre of the growing tip. Which will quickly spread to the other plants if you keep them together.
