Re: Aloe polyphylla germination
Did anyone here manage to get seed from the seed-list (I've only seen a few people saying in another thread that it had sold out)? How many seeds were in the packet? To answer the question, yes, I was fortunate enough to get a packet. I haven't sown yet, as far as I can tell it contains up to 20 se...

Re: Nicotine as insecticide
I remember my late husband saving his dog-ends, boiling them up and using the concoction in a spray bottle, no idea how effective it was, though. Plenty of dog ends easily collected from our streets and tops of street waste bins these days. Smokers don't have much social responsibility so our gain?...

Re: Soft copy of seed list
I totally agree, but please don't shoot the messenger. Sorry Tony it wasn't my intention to take a pot shot at you, or trying to make a cutting remark.... just responding to your gentler critical raising of the issue. If it sows the seed of a new debate all well and good. Let's see how it pans out,...

Re: Soft copy of seed list
It should appear there if/when this 'old' website ever gets updated. Tony, this is now verging on scandal. From membership renewal to seed distribution, complaints about functionality on web site and even forum, all we seem to hear is there's been a delay in implementing a new comprehensive web sit...

Re: Online renewal
Now I have found my renewal form, I am slightly puzzled again - if I renew by Paypal do I also have to send off the completed form? Seems a bit of extra work for Tony to match up the two, if so.
But at least the form is clear - enclose SAE if you want acknowledgement.
Yes, thanks due to Tony.

Re: Online renewal
The first link says "Your application(**) will be processed by the Membership Secretary and you will receive your membership information by post a few days later." (**) application for membership AND renewal, or just membership ?? I remember my initial membership stuff did come quickly in...

Re: Online renewal
This thread has reminded me that I need to renew, but not having any cheque book didn't respond to the mailing with the December Cactus World. I am totally bamboozled. This page offers payment by Paypal or card https://www.society.bcss.org.uk/index.php/subscriptions.html then there's this page offer...

Re: MSG Bulletin
The problems of sending seeds outside of Europe should not change after Brexit, it will just be that phytosanitary certificates might well be needed to send seeds into the EU. Quite right. Which is why it is a little sad, or shall I say puzzling, that the MSG has restricted seed distribution to Eur...

MSG Bulletin
My copy arrived today, thank you team. It looks an interesting edition, and well-illustrated with interesting pics. Two articles caught my eye immediately from the contents page. Steven Hammer's article on plant crimes must be a sad warning, especially to those who profit from extreme prices for eba...
