Re: Editing tools and spell checking

There are also spellchecker (and translation) facilities accessible via the latest Google Toolbar, which you can add into your browser. It has many other goodies and I would hate to be without it.

Re: whats the point of shows Solved

Hello again, Thanks for your support. I guess that because I have a dial-up connection and write off-line, my infrequent posts are more substantial, but alas less chatty in style. You will have gathered that I am a supporter of cactus shows, but I don't think they are perfect! Compromises have to be...

Re: The Internet and the Cactus Hobby

CactusChris proposed that we "Have 'experts' replying to specific topics whenever they are raised (like membership but maybe specific plant groups as well)." Yes, I do agree we need a broader range of expertise within this Forum. But let me make it clear that I think we also need more begi...

Re: The Chileans

The Chileans are not really a subscription magazine society, although they do publish their findings, in a journal of text with few pictures. What they really want are active members who will join in observing their plants closely, visiting habitats, reading the literature and writing up their thoug...

Re: The Internet and the Cactus Hobby

Hello again, This is a stimulating thread that we ought to keep going. I do not think that "a more modern" presentation of these pages will make much difference to most Forum users. However, I would agree that it is important for the Forum to be very easy to use, since many target recruits...

Re: Cactophile !!?

Some Americans c&s growers are describing themselves as "Succulentists". Does that appeal? Of course, cactus only growers will not approve ...

Re: Speaking Tour in March: Steven Hammer

Hi Tom,

Steve prides himself that he never gives two talks the same! He relates whatever comes to mind when a given picture is shown. But the Reading and Harrow talks will be drawn from the same set of pictures, so will be similar.

Definitely worth making an effort for!

Best wishes,
Derek
