Hi Tina: This is not the first year of flowering it has flowered for the last 4 years but I have only ever had two flowers at one time. I think it must be just a variation as as my other plant which came from the same seed batch is a much smaller plant and has many more curved spines and indeed has ...

Echinocereus lindsayii
I grew this plant from Society Seed in February 2002. It is now in a 12 cm pot and is the largest of the two plants that I kept from the sowing. My highest temperature in the greenhouse was yesterday of 43.3c that is with the double doors open, 13 auto vents open, and four sets of six louvres open and a fan going phew, needless to say I didn't venture in there until the evening.
