Im going to start puting together a new powerpoint talk on cacti and succulents of the UK...yep! Re: Meally bug outdoors
Like you Ive found the outdoor environment cleans normal plants, eg epiphyllums. I think its because predators can pick off the meally. I guess its the tight nit plants like sempervivums, hardy echeveria, opuntia joints that harbour them, but rarely enough to cause them grief. I suspect some spiders...

Meally bug outdoors
I have found that both meallybug and root meally are surviving in alpine pots eg on sempervivums and hardy crassulas, even when we had temperatures well below zero. This summer by chance I noticed meally thriving and breeding on a large mahonia shrub, and last year on passion flower (had to chop it ...

Would of dropped at least to 0 in the greenhouse it was in. In doors I ignored it and new growth became pro...

Huernia macrocarpa?
Is this unlabelled plant Huernia macrocarpa?
I also have Huernia macrocarpa penzigii and Huernia macrocarpa concinnea, from memory flowers are similar but the plant stems are subtly different.

Re: Aloe aff. montis-nabro
Hi Mike, is seed available to your knowledge, id like to have one to use in my talk on Eritrean succulents. That area of Eritrea is stunning. Vast saltplains, desert and lots of volcanoes.
