Interesting - that must be a lot of lava rock! May I ask where you got it? Online the prices & quality fluctuate all over the place

It is indeed.

That said, good luck trying to find exactly what's in it

Re: Insecticide

You don't say that you have actually tried the two applications 24 hours apart. I assume you have, as you are dismissing the possibility of it working? They do suggest weekly or fortnightly applications afterwards to catch the next generation for full eradication. I am dismissing it because I know ...

Re: Insecticide

If you have serious fungus and/or insect problems and are serious about eradicating them, go on a PA1 pesticide spraying course.

You will then have the the freedom to use professional products.

Re: Insecticide

Yes but with cacti especially there are so many nooks & crannies where mealies hide that it's pretty much impossible for a product like SBPI to work effectively.

Unless you get every single one, including eggs, they will just breed and appear again.

Alternatively, the best (but most expensive) option is to run a dehumidifier 24/7. I've been using a Meaco...

JonNo wrote: Mon May 17, 2021 11:49 am But does Acetamiprid destroy eggs?
If it's systemic then it will be drawn up into the plant, so when the eggs hatch and start feeding on the plant, they'll get a dose of poison which will kill them

So the theory goes anyway

Re: Root mealy bug

Not much use to the rest of us... Useful to me as I have a licence too. As an amateur grower, pests & disease are by far the #1 problem in growing cacti. Growing cacti & other plants means everything to me, it's my obsession so I've found the time and expense acquiring the licence is well w...

Navajoa peeblesiana ssp. fickeisenii SB468

Very pleased to see this Steve Brack plant flower for the first time today. I wasn't expecting it to flower - ever - given the low light levels we get compared to its habitat.
