Re: Lindsey Deaves

Veery sad news. :( I had not met Lindsey or have any of her plants but I always remember her posts to be thoughtful and informative. She had a great deal of knowledge and also had a sense of the beauty of nature which came across in her words. It's sad to think we won't read her posts again. My best...

Re: Off with its head?

What gorgeous little rosettes, Jim. You could always offer any you want to part with in barter here in the public area, that way there is a trail if anyone kicks off about you making the cost of postage out of a rare species.

Re: Anyone into cristate/monstrose?

What wonderful little plants! I am glad someone will take them off your hands, it would be a shame to compost such unique babies.

Re: How can I improve this

Well rescued Sue! Good luck with the pruning, it's the right time to do it. The sorry stumps will be covered in green pips in no time. It will be lovely to watch them grow into baby new shiny leaves. (tu)

Re: watering and death

Hello Thord,

I am sorry to hear you have lost so many plants all at once. What percentage of your collection were they?

I hope all the others are healthy and enjoying their first drink. :gl:

Re: Euphorbia obesa

Eric's root looks as tapered as one of mine which had root rot, and is now a happy healthy rooty plant. She is the smoothest, the most "obesa" of just about all of them, and her children are/were smooth, see Gloria the baby... the only survivor. Her dad's only progeny - my prime gorgeous s...

Re: Euphorbia obesa

Eric, I talk to my plants when I get home at night as they have more sense than my colleagues.

I sometimes sing - but not intentionally to the plants.

Keep us up to date... when he eventually decides to root.

Re: Euphorbia obesa

That is one gorgeous forb, Eric. Nice and plump too, he has a good head start. I think it might be a boy from the flower? You have still got the fat part of the root, so the area for potential rot is a very small circle. Keep an eye on the base for rot... although mine only ever seem to rot when I r...

Re: Euphorbia obesa

Hi Eric, Well done you, for growing the loveliest plant ever. Patience is the key... I have known forbies take months to develop new roots. Yours is a good healthy size so should not dry up while it makes its mind up to root. It will get skinnier, but again don't worry.. I have had small p...
