Welcome to the Forum, you can never have too many succulents! If this was a normal year I'd recommend the Cactus Show at Birmingham Botanical Gardens which would have been in a week or so. Hopefully it will be back to normal for early October next year.

Aeonium 'Mardi Gras' Variations
Aeoniums clearly to be flavour of the month. I've been growing 'Mardi Gras' since it first became available in 2014 and it soon branches when cut. All my plants are the same clone but I've had a few colour changes over the years. aeonium mardi gras a.JPG The one on the left has grown with very pale ...

Re: Aeonium 'Superbang' and 'Inferno'
With species names, it's botanists trying to justify their own existence, at least the species name is usually constant, ie. Neoporteria Napina might be called Eriosyce Napina but generally the species stays even though botanists like to mess about with genera. With hybrids it's a minefield with nur...

Re: Aeonium 'Superbang' and 'Inferno'
Aeoniums tend to vary in colour during the year. The one in the photo is 'Fiesta' , another hybrid from Renee O'Connell at Altmans in California, the same lady that came up with 'Mardi Gras'. Altmans have plant breeders rights for all of the plants they have hybridised but usually for the US only. T...

Re: Digital thermostat
The specs for the inkbird model seem to vary depending on where I look. Some show max output 1100w and some show 2200w. Are there different models or different models for different countries, max output of 1100watts wouldn't be much use.

Re: Collected plants
I'm still sticking with No.3, it looks like a cluster of old original heads with the whiter newer offsets forming in cultivation. However, I'm happy to split No.2 with Tina, it looks like it could be cut in half quite easily. You can bring my half to the next meeting whenever that may be.

Re: Collected plants
My guess is No.3 also, what's the prize for guessing the correct one, I don't mind splitting one with Tina. No 3 looks like it might have had a bit of red spider many years ago to give it that sort of habitat type look. Superb bit of growing there John, it's not easy keeping them as clean as that. S...

Re: plants from Africa- Passport required?
Going back to the original post, and knowing the commercial side of the market fairly well, I would expect that the plants arrived via the Belgian nursery which has two farms in South Africa.

Re: Fading colors
After all the years I've been growing plants, there's always something to learn, I can always rely on looking at the Forum each morning and reading what I call 'Terry's Words of Wisdom' Thanks Terry.

Re: Sansevierias in Garden Centres
Here's two that I didn't buy. Interesting bit of marketing but unfortunately the pattern was carved into the plant, not painted as it might look. They were expensive too, very wide leaves but about £25 each, presumably paying extra for the artwork!
