I would hope that the show was a competition of "GROWING" rather than "GRAMMAR" Its not "GRAMMAR", its "TAXONOMY" (sic). And I would hope that getting the name of something right is important, whether on the show bench or in your own greenhouse. To my mind it...

OK, took me a while but it's 'Toumeya'. There are points for presentation but no penalties for spelling. In my mind I have them as closer to isthmensis - highly mammilate, clustering. But the populations in Mexico are so variable that they could all just be potatorum anyway. My opinion, fwiw, is that your plants is too big and solitary for a versch. and is a potatorum.

Or maybe consider a polytunnel? They are cheap but effective, especially if it is only a temporary measure.

Yes - just. I planted it this year, one of a few old plants I re-homed earlier in the season. Its in the 'new bit' so planted in rubble.
