Re: ID please

1.9.2011 Hi All, This is most probably Mestoklema, which will have a large tuberous root stock in time. I would not expect it to flower yet, but really the flowers are hardly worth waiting for, the beauty is in the tuber. The MSG is very sorry that this mix-up occurred, but the seed was donated and ...

Re: ELK 2011

1.9.2011 Hi All, The B.C.S.S. after a lapse of two years, will be having its usual stand near the Cafeteria. Journals, Bradleyas, and some other pubs will be available. Anything you want taken over especially? Many good offers. Mesemb Study Group will be on the same stand with Klein Karoo available,...

Re: MSG Bulletin

Hi Lithos, I am sorry you have taken exception to the MSG (short form writing for message) items on the Forum. You are right it is a very good way of raising the profile of the MSG or any other special interst group come to that. It is the best way for any specialist group to reach a high proportion...

Re: MSG Bulletin

Hi All,

Sorry for the missing/extra pages in some of the Bulletins. I can send out complete copies to anyone who has a faulty one and desires a replacement, just ask.

I think I will have to remonstrate severely with the collators!

Regards, Suzanne

Re: MSG Bulletin

Hi Lindsey, If someone got their Bulletin today, then that is one day's delivery on 2nd class postage, even better than the laid down time for 1st class post! Sorry you haven't got yours but they were all mailed at the same time. I am afraid that this issue is predominantly Lithops yet again, perhap...

Re: James Pickering and his Brazilian Cephalic Cacti site

Hi Manda, I had not caught up with the news that James Pickering had died, as you say he was not young. We met him when we went out to one of the USA Conventions in 2001 and travelled on afterwards to have a holiday and visited Dan Bach's nursery which was where we met James A very knowledgeable man...

Re: DONALDSON AUCTION REMINDER

Hi All, A smashing day out, well organised, auctioneer managed to stay on his feet right through from before 11.00 until after we left at about 5.45pm. The runners however looked as if they had got the worst part of the bargain, hauling some of the large plants out of the greenhouses on such a hot d...

Re: Echinopsis Swap Circle?

Hi,

I have been contacted by a member of the group who has not been informed of the changes and she is not able to use any on-line system as she does not have a computer, so will she be contacted in another way?

Re: Is Lithops getting too much sun?

Hi Val, I hope your Lithops comes through OK. When we buy plants through the post they will have been in the dark for a few days and potting them and putting them immediately into the greenhouse in full sun will come as a shock. Better to put them under the bench so that they can acclimatise slowly....
