A good year for Echinocereus flowers, or is it just me?
My dasyacanthus went for best bloom today in the blistering morning heat.

Out of respect for opuntia spines I photographed this small-padded one in situ. First time flowering from a 'bag of pads', and a name would be nice, please. I don't know the name of the broad-spined opuntia on the right either.

Yes, I have seen these but can only recall them being associated with roots of some species.

Given DaveW's nice travelogue of his Chile2015 trip, here is my E. chilensis v. albidiflora that coincidentally was in flower today.

Oh well, not to be.
I will just have to wait for the genuine article to flower - maybe next year....

Does Thelocactus flavidispinus fit this thread? The flower is a match and the spines hetero-ish.....

I agree with salm-dyckianus.

I got it from a branch member a few years ago, labelled Tunilla hintonii, not sure of the original source. The picture does give a lighter flower colour than it actually is. You are welcome to a cutting if you want it to compare with your own plant?
