Sulphuric acid helps with germination (if you don't want to try it several times - we get older and have less time). Against fungus, for example, cleaning the seeds in warm water at 52° for about 10 minutes helps. But usually fungus is no problem when sowing washed Austrocacti seeds. Sometimes it is...

Hello Darren, use fertilizer, lots of fertilizer and then cut off the upper part of the Pterocactus to root it. Leave a stump of about 1 cm - it will produce new offsets. But remove all offsets of the stock as soon as possible. Let Phil's idea come true - throw the whole plant away. Much success Nobby
