it occurs in Bolivia too so appears to have a wide range. You would have to compare it with the original description of D. digitata before you assume it is something new.

Funnily enough I cant smell it at all! As I only see it first thing in the morning and in the evening I am guessing that it is smelly in the daytime whilst I am at work...

That looks more like grey mould to me (botrytis); powdery mildew, as you can see from the article John posted, is very white, and far less fuzzy than grey mould. Botrytis is an opportunistic pathogen which normally strikes dead or dying plant material but can attack healthy material at sites of dama...
