I bought seed from http://www.kaktusyhk.cz/ last year and was pleased with the results. This year, I placed my order on 5th Oct and received news of the total cost/request for payment on 1st Dec. Slow, but I know I'm paying for what I ordered and is in stock - there will be no substitutes or credit...

I don't think so. The offset will consist of new grown cells that themselves will have another 100 years to go.

Indeed buds. My Pediocactus knowltonii has buds since last summer, all ready to burst bigger and then open. They will open up in about three to four months.

The seed list of Ludwig Bercht has come out too. The website has not been updated (yet), but I received a list via e-mail. I am sure you can contact him via the website for a list request. Highly specialised on South American cacti, of which many many Gymnocalyciums. The website has now been update...

Not a perfect technique: there is one little seedling on the edge of the pot, clearly lacking behind the others. Poor seedling!
