Yes Aiko , I think I will sow my cactus seeds in the way you suggest . Habanerocat - I had a good long read of the link you sent me .....it seems that people are not really sure about doing this with precious cactus seeds . I think I will just make sure everything is sterilised and just keep it simp...

This was all very interesting to read and I too would like to thank those who took the time to give their thoughts on this . Yes I think I will just sterilise the compost and everything as best as I can ...and skip the fungicide drench , I never was all that good at Chemistry at school !

Its been awhile since I grew cacti from seeds so to refresh my memory I googled it . ( I bought some Monkey Cactus seeds online ) I keep coming across the instruction to water the seeds in with a little fungicide BUT they never seem to say which brand to use , nor do they say how much to add to the ...

Oh dear ! Yes I,ve got crumbling crates too ...but its usually the edges that disintegrate as I begin to pick the crate up .......and my lovely nails ! :sad: Debbie :grin:
