Re: Growing regime winter growing seedlings
I think Iann is right, the Monilarias probably won't give you any alternative once the days are long. I would keep them all a bit sheltered from the fiercest sun and occasionally spray or water lightly overhead. Start offering water in ernest in early Autumn - though check that they respond before f...

Re: Aloinopsis schooneesii cultivation
I grow a few of these - I like the fat roots and stripy flowers. I favour an autumn and spring regime, from late September/early October till late November, then mid Feb to Late March - roughly:-) Frankly, this is very similar to my winter waterings since I don’t water much at all between mid Dec an...

Re: Calibanus hookerii
I love Calibanus, I don't really know why but they just press the right buttons for me. For shows, I used to trim any dead brown ends off the leaves, usually cutting the brown rather than getting into the green growing leaf. Re: I'm new
Hi Lindsey,
Good to hear from you again, and I'm still keen on Sceletiums (Sceletia?)! I need to sort my pictures out - most are still slides and I find these difficult to post. However, even a good Sceletium is going to fair poorly against Phil's Copiapoa in most people's eyes

Re: I'm new
Thanks for the info about sales and wants, Diane, I think I will try that when I have a few minutes!
And thanks to Phil for his encouragement, but I think we ought to note that at least 95% of that Copiapoa laui (unless my eyes deceive me) is due to Phil's cultivtion skills!
Cheers

I'm new
Hello, My name is David Lambie and I’m new to the forum. I’m based in Bristol and grow a range of succulent plants, including cacti, in my greenhouse. I have a particular interest in Mesembs and Epiphytes and have a few Haworthias, but also a significant range of other bits and bobs! Historically I ...
