Yes well established Paul, nice woody trunks. I've cut some back before but in spring when they've looked a bit tatty and they reshoot well and can grow fairly quickly. Not really an ideal time of the year for pruning them with the damp and cold, just hope we don't get any more really bad weather an...

Cut back my striatulas today as they'd turned to mush after the snow we had a couple of weeks back, surprising as they're usually tough and have survived a few winters outside. Hopefully they'll reshoot come spring.

I have a small plant with a caudex of only around 3 or 4" and I've kept it under an unheated cloche this winter, seems ok at the moment but may turn to mush yet.
