Pachypodium bispinosum also looks very similar - until they flower, when they have quite different shaped flowers, and it is easy to tell them apart. Indeed, equally difficult to tell apart in habitat, unless in flower, bispinosum having a very distinctive bell shaped flower unlike succulentum . He...

Plenty growing on in Dutch nurseries, ex-Korea, last time I visited, So I'm sure they will be here again soon:

I suffer from these too, particularly in the case of certain species of Gasteria and small Opuntia.
