That's why I like the bag ...

I came across this in a link on facebook of all places. I was wondering what everyone else thinks about the finding of a new speices in the Turbinicarpus genus. I haven't been working with them for long enough to have a real opinion about it other than I'm sure I have one that looks just like that h...

Re: young lithops question
15-18C minimum? That's pretty warm for Lithops! They'll grow better with cooler night temperatures. 5C-10C is good, although warmer days (or at least some direct sun) will help them grow. Thanks Iann, It's a large mixed glass house that's why the high temperature. I don't keep many Lithops so I wil...

Re: Few week old seedlings questions
I did do an experiment in my early days growing cactus with Saugo cactus and the ones that stayed on heat for longer did develop into stronger plants the following year. I will try again and document my findings more clearly as this was me just feeling my feet with cactus growing. That being said I ...

Interesting post. I have some 1 year seedlings and some adult plants which I normally keep in the heated Glasshouse at 15 -18 deg C, but from what your saying here they would benifit being moved out of there and into a cooler area over winter. Re: Illegal plant collecting!
After the initial shock and awe of the sensational figures faded, and some incredulous and skeptical people rightly voiced their doubts, in the end, after due consideration, I consider that paper absolute garbage. At this point, to my mind, they proved to me, absolutely nothing. Remember, the title...
