Re: Windowsill collection expands...
I'll get around to some more photos this week sometime, there was a couple of Copiapoa still in flower and a couple of the Mamms. The cono's don't seem to have woken up very quickly and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong there, but I'll take the camera over in case there is anything else still in blo...

A couple more shots of euphorbia's which were back at home earlier in the year in the repot queue. The Stellaspina is one of the more unamusing of the plants I've had to repot in 2011 I do like it though.

Re: Windowsill collection expands...
A couple more views of plants being relabelled and organised. A lot of plants have historical and not quite up to date names, some are from older collections, or just named using older names! I've picked up a lot of names in my head from my dad :) Some of its undoubtedly out of sync with plant famil...

Windowsill collection expands...
Hello folks, something I've been trying to remember to do for most of the summer, get my camera out a bit more. Anyway, I took these pictures about 3 months ago and forgot about the card I'd loaded them on :???: But, this is the greenhouse myself and my father are sharing, since our respective small...

Re: September flowers
Plant I brought home to identify which Dad and I weren't sure about. Looks like Turbinicarpus pseudomachrohele v. krainzianus - I think
Anyway, nice to see it still flowering, I took a load of dead flower heads off yesterday.

Re: Sarcocaulon in flower Solved
Lovely. These seem a bit underrated. Never seen any for sale myself, anyone grown them from seed in the UK?

Since I don't shop at Lidl and I've never seen these at Aldi I suspect it might be a variety found at another location, not its type location?
Maybe its m. morrisonii

Re: Remove peat or not?
Interesting what you said about forbies and peat Julie. I was talking to a seller at the mart today who said that a john innes mix used on some of his plants had seen them almost retrogress, and were happier in a peat base. I guess it is down to where they come from most of the time? I'm starting to...

Re: North West Cactus and Succulent Mart
Thanks for all the efforts of the Manchester Branch who put their efforts into organising the sale, and of course to the sellers for turning up :) [and for whomever made the fruitcake - yummy!] I heard there was a queue outside at 10am of eager buyers awaiting the goodies inside. When I turned up wi...

Re: Anybody for the Harrogate Show?
Thanks for the photos Jim. I didn't get today, well, not further than the car park. My wife and I only had 2 hours spare after a busy morning, and then having to get to a meeting at 2pm I didn't think it was worth £30 entry for only a couple of hours to spend there, but never mind. Still going to th...
