Think the seed was mislabelled
This is a 2 year old seedling, it came from the seedpool under the name Mediolobivia atrovirens. It was clear about a year ago that wasn't right however and just to prove the point it opened these the other day  Echinocereus viridiflorus.jpg An Echinocereus viridiflorus, one of that group at l...

Re: Chamaecereus and chamaelobivia
Chamaecereus silvestrii was the original species, not sure where it resides now. Possibly as an echinopsis? Anyway, chamaelobivia is a cobbled together name that is attached to hybrids that originate from chamaecereus x lobivia. Perhaps a better way to use it is to add Xchamaelobivia to illustrate t...

Re: Spectacular coloured Lithops
It was earlier in the year when after consistently rubbish weather we had a suprise very hot day and I'd left them in full sun That is why I keep all my one year seedlings under a shading cloth all the time! I had thought I'd take the chance with the overcast skies to try and acclimate them to full...

Re: Spectacular coloured Lithops
I managed to get a bunch of transplanted yearlings to look like your first one. Except they didn't rot, they cooked. It was earlier in the year when after consistently rubbish weather we had a suprise very hot day and I'd left them in full sun  had I realised they'd have been in some shade. At...

Isn't L steineckeana considered to be a hybrid itself?

Re: Feeling full yet?
The snails confiscated my year old bokei last year
I had thought being a bit bigger and covered in dense white spines would protect them but no. Fortunately I have new seedlings this year, they will NOT be placed anywhere snails can get at them.

Re: Succulents on TV again Solved
Yes, I had a couple of echeveria from them 2 years ago. They also touched on cacti in terraria (or death boxes as I think of them) earlier in the program. Noticed they also gave brief mention to carnivorous plants, incorrectly labelled though.

Re: Bargain in my local gc
This particular gc is expensive generally but occasionally they have something nice. Sometimes they even have a name! For example they had a couple of large mature ferocactus last year for about £30 and then they had a random echinopsis hybrid in a 4 inch pot for the same price.
