Re: Own soil mix for Cacti and Succulents
A 2:1 mixture of Clover John Innes No. 3 and coarse grit that I have bought under the Bowers, Silvaperl and Westland labels. This grit is an average of about 4mm particle size. Seedlings can be grown using a finer grit of about 1mm particle size. For winter-growers and trickier plants, I up the gri...

Own soil mix for Cacti and Succulents
I am in the process of making my own soil mix as I have found the 'Cati & Succulent mix' purchased from Garden Centres to be a lot less gritty than I would like. I have seen on YouTube various videos where Builder's sand or Horticultural sand is recommended to be part of the mix. In the latest B...

Two New Cacti To Identify.
Hello
My two new Cacti arrived today. One between 5 and 8 years, the other around 10 years old.
Could you please help identify them? The smaller one has slightly larger tougher spines than the other.
Many thanks

Re: Cacti identity
Hello Mike, Diane and Ralph
I have taken another photo which I hope will make things clearer. It looks to me if the Cacti are joined.
Sorry about the previous one being less clear.

Re: Cacti identity
Thank you Diane and ralphmartin for your replies.
On further examination, the top 2 are dead so I have repotted the lower ones.

Re: Unnamed Displays of Cactus
Thank you Stuart for the helpful reply. The cacti are supplied by a nursery in Holland.
I will now look at some of the nurseries itemised by TBC&SS.
