Re: Did you enjoy the national show
There are always alternatives ... The BCSS could hand organising over to a professional event management company, probably at an even larger venue, but hopefully one more easily accessed via public transport. I have no doubt our show is a spectacle of national interest and would attract more visito...

Re: Pachypodium ID request
It's not a lamarei unfortunately from what I remember of the tag...MikeT wrote:I'd go for lamerei, especially with the white midrib on the leaves
It's seeming a lost cause, guess it will be easier to tell once it grows up a bit!

Re: Pterodiscus aurantiacus - Care help please
The only one I ever had (many years ago) shed its leaves in winter dormancy... Then it died. YMMV if growing it indoors - mine was kept in the greenhouse. Thanks I have it in a indoor greenhouse under a 300W growlight (maybe 2.5 feet away from it) supplemented with T9 flourescent lights; in a simil...

Can someone please help me identify this Pachypodium as I lost the ID Tag.
Appreciate your inputs, it is the plant in the middle of the photo.

Pterodiscus aurantiacus - Care help please
So I bought this great Pterodiscus Aurantiacus from Toobees Exotics at the BCSS National Show (most of my large caudiciforms are from Bob Parker through sale shows!). The plant seems to have woken up (it has zero leaves when I bought it) and is now sending up big stalks. How do I take care of it, I ...

Re: Succulents and pottery
You folks have some great pots for your succulents.
Is there any place in London or even UK (preferably online) that I can buy these?

Bonide Systemic Insect Control
So my friend in the USA sent me a pesticide he says would work well for succulents. They are Bonide Systemic Insect Control in granule form. Some websites say the active ingredient is Imidacloprid but the label says 9.4% of Acephate (O,S-dimethyl acetylphosphoramidothioate) and rest is Other Ingredi...

Re: Help please - is this a mealybug attack?
Less than 12 hours after spraying the whole thing with 99% isopropyl alcohol and removing all the roots, spray drenching roots with alcohol and repotting it there are some white specks on some of the spines again. Does anyone think that this could just be mineral deposits that the plant is leeching ...
