I think you might find it worthwhile to visit the annual fair of the ELK in Blankenberge, Belgium. It has just passed this weekend, so you will need to wait a year. Many of the UK are tra...

Re: Cornish grit
Westland potting grit is too fine for cactus usage. If you have some and need to get rid of it I would suggest that you use one part of Westland to three parts of a 3mm grit in your compost. The Westland grit I have is around 2 MM , is that too fine? It was recommended to me by a person who is one ...

Re: Greenhouse choice
I recently bought one from Access Garden Products - www.garden-products.co.uk
The quality of the product was just mind blowing and I assembled it myself, this is nothing short of a miracle given how poor my DIY skills are!

I have an Agave Parrasana Huntington Clone I bought from plantlifecactus and it is wonderful now but albeit still small, 9 CM pot. Looking forward to the day it grows so big....

Re: Specks last auction
You can't access it, FaeLLe, Specks has now closed down, so no more auctions. And you would have needed very deep pockets to win any of their plants! I have been looking for ways to spend my hard earned money! Money < satisfaction of big fat caudiciforms ! Are there any other plant source likes tha...

Re: Cornish grit
I guess you mean the Westland potting mix has like in it? I wash it very well because I can't stand the dirt in any grit, won't that take care of any lime?Ali Baba wrote:Rather round grains, and definitely not lime free unfortunately . Which is an issue for some of the plants I grow such as proteas

Re: Pumice in ikea
I have recently started planting my succulents in IKEA pumice (well washed as it has some nasty powder settlement) and Akadama imported from Japan; got this idea from Toobee's Exotics and William's Cactus at the National Show 2016.
