Re: Gasteria flowers - the fat and the thin
Very good, Mike, thanks. Liz M also showed us some contrasting gasteria flowers recently http://www.bcss.org.uk/foruma/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=159934 Some of my plants have had some cracking and rather distinctive flowers just recently - I try to get the camera out tomorrow and add to this post if t...

Re: July 2013 - Madagascan Treasures
Some great photos. I'm not quite sure how the judging works here, it doesn't seem to be a voting competition but if it had been the Pachypodiums would have got my votes, in particular Lithos's Pachypodium horombense. FYI, the winner of the previous month's competition chooses the subject and then j...

Re: Tunillas in bud
I agree, Phil and Mike, T. chilensis is one of the most shy flowerers for me too, only a couple of times in the last 10 years or so. It is also one of those which detach segments most easily though, so perhaps it knows that its ease of propagation is by vegetative means rather than seed dispersal.

Re: Denmoza Rhodacantha & Wigginsia
Lovely to see a Denmoza in flower, Peter, well done! You can see from the flowers why it was earlier placed in genus Cleistocactus in 1861. I also saw a larger one with many flowers earlier this month in Brian Hill's greenhouse in Cardiff. Equally, it had been grown 'very hard' with little watering.
