Re: Euphorbia phillipsiae - tiny 'flowers'!

Hi
Ooh, he's a lovely beasty & yes please re a graft, happy to swap just email me.

I managed to buy a e.horwoodii crest the other month which is really nice looking much better than the normal form which is a bit of a menace on a graft as it gets big & messy.

Re: DONALDSON AUCTION REMINDER

Just a thought and possible Warning is to remember that Doug & Doreen grew their collection in greenhouses with bubble wrap up permanently so don't put the new acquisitions in full sun or they could/will burn.

Re: DONALDSON AUCTION REMINDER

It was sad for Doreen to see the collection sold off but was a tribute to her & Dougs care that so many people wanted to rehome his plants and they will obviously be well looked after by the new owners. It was nice meeting lots of people some I have only chatted to via email so good to put names...

Re: Whats cookin in da oven....

I also microwave my grit from the top dressing so I can reuse it as him indoors mentioned about our borders looking a bit gritty where I had been throwing it in the garden, this is cheaper & at least I don't need to worry about bugs.

Re: New Generation grafting

Hi I saw this last yr & Tony kindly sent me some Opuntia, I did have some successes but should have used fresh pads ( I forgot them for a couple of weeks) & probably summer would have been better. I want to graft some p.bonniae as on the short stock they would look better than the lollipops ...

Re: Whats cookin in da oven....

I now have my own microwave in the greenhouse as I was told off for using the kitchen one & it's my kitchen  . In the propagator I will soon have some H.venusta ( home seed) ,h.lockwoodii X H.venusta - which might be an interesting cross, just a pity my h.lockwoodii plants didn't flower tog...
