Here in inland southern California I find this a bit of a finicky plant outdoors, and tend to rot them now and then. Sometimes one will do well for several years, then konk out. plant looks a lot like Aloe ciliaris, but flowers look exactly like orange form of Aloe tenuior, so suspect that is what the plant is, too.

Wow, some incredibly good pictures… Jim Mercer's last photo gets second place for sure… but best picture goes to the close up of Mike T's tiny little spiny purply Mammillaria flower. My camera won't even get that close…. great focus! Like from another planet. Congratulations Mike T!

Aloe juvenna hybrid most likely (could be pure species, but doesn't quite look right)… many hybrids made with this as one of the ingredients.
