Re: MSG Bulletin

Just got my bulletin tonight. Judging by the message on the seed list status page choice may be limited ... The lack of seed remaining is probably due to people taking advantage of the MSG's offer to email the list to any members who wished a copy who hadn't received their bulletin from the 9th Mar...

Re: 4'' plastic labels

https://www.lbsbuyersguide.co.uk/stick-in-plant-labels-heavy-duty are ordinary labels but last forever and these: https://www.lbsbuyersguide.co.uk/colour-coded-labels are square ended ones that also last for many years. I haven't used the white ones but have used the coloured ones for over 20 years ...

Re: MSG Bulletin

Terry: - thank you for explaining. That sounds a clever way to do it and it is so much easier to sow the seeds from the tissue rather than chasing around a seed packet for the seeds that have decided to hide in folds of the envelope. And as Ragamala said your efforts are really appreciated. Edited t...

Re: MSG Bulletin

I am very interested to read all your comments on this topic. Tony, I know how difficult it is to produce haworthia seed, so I suspect that you do not send out close to 10 000 packets to over 250 members. This is why we try to stagger the orders for seed. Wow. I have always wondered how many packet...

Re: Etwin Aslander seeds

I'm glad I could help. I recommend his mixed packets of seed if you aren't too bothered about exact naming. The packet of mixed lithops I had proved to be full of a wide variety of different lithops. I did not know about Etwin's website so I have learned something too. He can be quite slow to send, ...

Re: Etwin Aslander seeds

I have bought seeds from him many times on ebay. He sells bulk packets of seeds for quite reasonable prices, and have had some superb plants raised. I can't remember his ebay name right now. Edited: 123etwin.

Re: Watering techniques for lithops seedlings Solved

I wonder why you repotted them? They were not overcrowded.

Anyway. The last photos of them seem to show the seedlings have been cooked by being to close to the lights and too hot. Raise the lights up and turn the temperature down.

I fear though it is too late.

Re: Young Lithops questions

I have a similar problem with a couple of trays of seedlings. My answer was to prick out some and leave the rest so I am covered what ever happens. It is quite easy to remove a lump of seedlings and prick them out whilst leaving the rest for the winter. I have no idea if that is the correct way but ...

Re: Facebook as a tool to support the BCSS

My experience of Facebook groups in general has been very mixed. Most of the time people are helpful and very willing to share their knowledge with newer growers asking very basic questions. More and more though I am becoming disillusioned with those people who believe they have all the answers and ...

Re: Lithops Hanawa-orange?

My seedlings from 2016 have a pinkish tinge, this years 2017 seedlings look like yours Iann, though maybe not quite as orange.
