Re: Euphorbia I.D.

Thanks everyone for your help. I guess it is a case of wait and see, it is very slow growing, it must be at least three years old and has managed a couple of flowers a year. It doesn't seem unhappy so I think this must be its normal growth rate. I must confess that I hadn't heard of symetrica when I...

Re: Tips for moving 'the collection'

I did once ask the RHS whether they knew of any specialist removal firms for plants, but the answer was "no". So we resorted to moving them to friend's houses/greenhouses etc. then moving them back to the new place ourselves in umpteen car trips. Although I wonder whether local nurseries m...

Re: Euphorbia I.D.

Thanks, Sylv. I did wonder about meloformis but the body colour put me off as all the ones I've seen have been markedly "stripey". The colour of this is more like enlopa but it is nothing like as vigorous being quite slow growing. Do meloformis show a lot of variation in body colour? If so...

Re: Tunilla corrugata

Mine has only flowered this week. It has not flowered for two years but has five buds this year and needs re potting again. I wonder whether restricting the roots has any effect on the flowering? Apart from the weather I can't think of any other variables over the past few years.

Euphorbia I.D.

Can anyone help I.D. this little chap? (It is in a two inch pot) It was labelled Euphorbia symmetrica when bought last year however the flowers don't look right nor does the colour compared to photos of symmetrica that I've seen. Most obvious solution would be a hybrid but I'm wondering whether some...

Re: Mealy bug attack

As Rod Smith suggests try a search on this forum (search box at the top of the page) as there are a lot of views on this and you can find a method that you prefer and that works for your plants. Personally I use a small paint brush dipped in a mix of meths and water to pick off individuals and the e...

Re: Help needed

Exterminate!

It may be worth checking your other plants as well. The adults , in my greenhouse at least, seem to be able to cover considerable distances in a very short time in search of their next meal.

Re: Help needed

Sorry to have to tell you but It looks as if you have an infestation of mealy bug there on the plants that are sharing a bowl. If there are root mealies as well that could be part of the problem. May be best to take them out of the soil and check. Even if not you need to get rid of those that above ...
