Re: De Herdt: does still exsist?
The brothersDe Herdt are really old now,but at least one of them were at ELK in 2009. They are situated just outside Brussels and when i was there in 2004 they didn´t have a computer, but a fantastic private collection!

Re: Wonder how it will work
Hi all! Looks awful with that amount of snow already. Here in Sweden we`ve had some flurries of snow, but it will certainly not stay.On the other hand there have been night temps(several nights)down to -8C which is a bit early even here up north. The foreboding is that it`s going to be as bad a winter...

Re: ELK 2012
For me and my compatriots the economic circumstancies makes it feasible to make the trip to ELK only every second year. First of all,I have too many plants as it is and secondly,I and many others, have to make savings out of a rather meager pension to afford both the trip and have some moneyto buy pl...

Re: Discocactus
Hello Ava! What I learned from Mats Winberg (of Succeed)was to never let seedlings go dry for the first two-three years and they will do just fine.I keep my Disco´s at room temperature in winter (in summer they stay outside in the garden) and as said before, they grow the year round so don´t forget w...

Re: Greenhouse panorama
Hi Sachi! You need a bigger greenhouse, that´s for sure! There seems to be space enough in your garden for a much bigger one. But don´t dispair, a bigger one will soon be too small

Re: Cacti Roots
Hello Dragonfish! As mentioned it´s normal for the feeding roots to die back in winter when plants are kept dry, but they´ll grow back very fast when recieving water. But after the first watering, let them dry out for a couple of weeks before the next one so that the feeders are well established, oth...
