Re: Caudiciform mystery

Are there any glands where the petiole joins the leaf? This is a characteristic of Adenia species.

Re: Lobivia jajoiana cv ‘Anemone’

This is a nice one in flower this morning. I received this from Ralph a few years ago, Lobivia jajoiana buiningiana. DSCN4423.JPG DSCN4424.JPG DSCN4425.JPG DSCN4426.JPG and an extraordinarily coloured Lobivia hertrichiana from seed I collected near Ollantaytambo in Peru in 2018. Since I had my catar...

Re: Care of pachypodium lamerei

Keep it warm and when in active growth they like a lot of water. I wouldn't grow one in a clay pot.

Bloody typical

I'm not growing much from seed this year, just 24 pots of mainly Lobivia wrightiana and Gymnocalycium prochazkianum and a pot of Yavia cryptocarpa. Guess which pot a wandering snail had a snack on last night whilst totally ignoring all the rest? It left 6 seedlings untouched so not all lost. I've br...

Re: John Innes compost replacements

I'm using Melcourt peat free compost to grow Chinese broccoli in tubs and the growth has been excellent. I'll report back as to how much the stuff has broken down at the end of the summer. It's nice stuff to use. I use 100% moler clay for my cacti. I used 100% moler clay for a season on my Stapelia...
