I agree with Anders. It is starting to show the long shoots that Rhipsalis have and Hatiora do not.

Re: dioscorea elephantipes
I've had success with a few species, 3 I think, and just did my normal thing - so they were in pots that got light. The seed were probably fairly well covered with grit but I expect the light got through. The currently accepted name is Dioscorea elephantipes. Dioscorea is a large genus including yam...

Gasteria ID, please
HI, I got this Gasteria from a local garden shop. It is vigourous and I like the white spotting and prominent keels on the leaves. I'd be grateful for help with identifying it. Is it obvious what its affinities are? Do I assume it is likely to be a hybrid? Cheers David Lambie Bristol IMG_5562_sml2.j...

Re: Lithops nameing
C083 is an urikosensis so it might be a poorly written label. Given the name confusion I'd just grow it and enjoy. There is debate about the value of "c" numbers these days anyway, since the plants are so many generations from the original collections and there are likely to have been a nu...

Re: So called Easter and Christmas cactus
I would just note that Easter cacti are usually ascribed to the genus Hatiora these days. You will often see them labelled as such. However, the latest DNA (I know of) puts the species that formed the hybrids and cultivars in Schlumbergera. If this tells me anything it is that I don't worry too much...

Ditto, Mine just arrived and I got all I asked for!
Excellent species and service. Shows the advantages of dealing with an enthusiasts' society rather than, for instance, eBay.

Re: Yucca endlichiana, will it die?
I've just sown them as any other cactus/succulent seed and had good results - nothing special. All my seed were from Mesa Garden.
