Re: Glasshouse insulation

Ian: I have booked a table at Woolston and hope to sell at least some spares. No doubt I'll buy more than I sell and will have the usual battle of finding somewhere to put them. If you intend to visit, look out for a fit looking, well dressed chap with a pink carnation in his buttonhole. I'll be the...

Re: Glasshouse insulation

I should state how much I've enjoyed my first few days in the Forum. Great constructive (also construction) advice and friendly chat. Nice story from Ernie, but so far as being able to pot up in the house -I think BIll surely must have been dreaming. Must go - got to pour Mrs T another Bristol Cream...

Re: Your dream greenhouse?

My worst greenhouse purchase was a Hartley's. As Ian states, they are a challenge to re-assemble if you relocate. On a level base, mine leaked like a sieve and I must have used a dozen cartridges of silicone sealant in an endeavour to make it watertight. Looks unsightly and generally unsatisfactory....

Re: Glasshouse insulation

Bill: thanks for your time and kind assistance. I'll try the site you suggested. You really should talk to that wife of yours. Funny things, women. I've been married to one for 40 years and still don't understand her. Seems to think that she's more important than the plants. Ian: I live near to Warr...

Re: Glasshouse insulation

Thanks, Bob. I'm interested in your comments.
Copiapoas scorching? 20 years to grow them, 20 seconds to ruin them!
- and why does always have to be the ones you like best!
Been there, done that.

Re: Glasshouse insulation

Thanks Chris. It's tough up here in the North West and if it wasn't for the heat from the power station, the sulphuric acid factory and the abattoir (the bright golden haze on the meadow is effluence), I don't know what we'd do!
Cheers,
Peter

Re: Glasshouse insulation

Bill: Thanks for the response and the warm welcome. I have 2-3000 or so plants barring those that I find this time of year covered with that attractive grey fluffy mould.I have all sorts of plants, but I do have a lot of Copiapoas, some from Alan Craig's disposal. I still dream of finding a dusty ol...

Glasshouse insulation

Hi folks. Newly retired, I've put my house up for sale and as I'm fed up with the shelves (and trying to balance plants on top of each other), in my 3no 20ft and one smaller greenhouses, when moved I am determined to treat myself to a stonking great Perity's type glasshouse (80 x 20 or similar). How...
