Re: ID plse

I agree. I think the correct spelling is Thrixanthocereus (note the 'h') but there are many entries on Google under both spellings, so plenty to choose from. The hairs are only supposed to be on young plants but yours looks quite old. Perhaps they are applying the same interpretation of 'young' as I...

Re: Crassula Cooperi???

I have one very similar as Crassula picturata but I see there is a Crassula picturata cooperi on Google or even Crassula exilis cooperi.

Re: Flowering and a water question

I'm using bottled water for my carnivorous plants and they are thriving, whereas tap water would kill them. I also use it for my cactus seeds, but I couldn't afford to use it for the plants. Re: name please

That's the one. I don't know if it is a synonym or, if not, what the difference is. I can't find much on Google about it. Maybe someone can enlighten us. There seem to be montrose forms of several Cereus species, sometimes called monstrosus. I have one that I bought for the office to counter the emi...

Re: name please

I was given one just like yours Sue, only mine hasn't produced a straight piece yet. As the others say, definitely not a Mammillaria and most likely a Cleistocactus. The difference between the two parts of the plant is in the growing point. Normally it grows from a single point radiating outwards bu...
