I sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the base of the pots. Stops them mealey bugs from wandering around

Always take precautions of course but I believe food grade DE is far lower in crystalline silica than non food grade. I always wear a mask when spraying my plants with SB or mixing compost as I've noticed dust comes of the clay particles.

You are very welcome! The product I use is called 'food grade' as I give it to my horse too as a natural wormer (I've noticed over the years the normal chemical worm preparations raise her liver enzymes). Of course there are other brands and grades available!
