Hi,
Gibbaeum dispar (3.5" pot) has been around for a very long time in cultivation but Gibbaeum aff. dispar from Rooiberg ( 4.25" pot) is a more recent discovery but is obviously closely related. Both are hairy and have pink flowers and each of these plants is in bud.

Haworthia viscosa
Hi,
Yes I do grow plants other than Mesembs. This came as a small cutting direct from the plant of Gerry Barad in the States in 1998 (approx) and it has taken all this time to reach this size and it is only in a 2.75" pot. I have not taken any cuttings in its lifetime.

Monilaria in bud
HI All,
Noticed a couple of days ago that a Monilaria was coming in to bud for the first time ever for me, don't know which one it is, the flower colour may help with identification. Another 3.5" pot.

Re: Mesemb lovers
Hi Peter, I am afraid that I do not know how old this plant is. I have had it 15 months. Terry Smale must have had it over 10 years as it came from a mutual friend in Belgium who had to relinquish his collection because of having to move. The small skinny label at the back of the larger label is the...

Re: Happy and sad- a reflection on the times
Hi Ernie.
The Pachypodium and the Cyphostemma prices would probably have been changed round at a larger auction, i.e. the Pachy - £70 and the Cypho - £40; but older plants are becoming more difficult to find these days.
regards, Suzanne

Re: Happy and sad- a reflection on the times
Hi Ernie, Sad indeed but good that you rescued some of the plants. The Cyphostemma bark is quite natural, happens as the plant grows and the trunk swells, don't peel it off. The black dots on the leaves are I suspect caused by the leaves getting ready to fall off and in the meantime are developing o...

Re: Lights for succulents in winter
Hi, I would prefer to keep my adult lithops dry during winter but this week we lost 5 panels from the greenhouse and so the lithops and conophytums have been swimming as they are kept in trays. Weather has been too wet to get to grips with the repairs but this morning is hopeful. Seedling lithops I ...
