Re: Scarred Echeveria

Maybe sunburn? We have had some hot sun recently and it is easy to be caught out like this. I had a few last year that got burnt. They were in the greenhouse and it was very hot. I brought them outside but it was too late. They still are not fully recovered.

Re: How to flower :Gasteria bicolor

I have quite a lot of Gasterias, some flower regularly. My regime, is to keep them dry and cool over winter. Water them from spring onwards, using the good soak and drying out completely method, and feed occasionally. I tend to leave them in the greenhouse and in a fairly sunny place, so that they h...

Re: Harrogate Spring Flower Show 2019

That's a very good display. It deserves a good award. I'm sure it will get one, too.
the plant sales area looks attractive and the plants great quality. They will sell well, I hope there are plenty more to fill the spaces.

Re: Succulent ID

The Crassula seems to have the leaf shape and thinness of Crassula arborescens ssp undulatifolia. It is not blue as is normal but could be a green form or had the farina rubbed off.

Re: Echeveria purpusorum propagation

I did not think this is Echeveria purpusorum, either. It is more like Echeveria 'Dionysos' a hybrid with another Echeveria species. It seems to be lacking light, which is why the leaves are laying flat. With better light, more sun, it would grow in a more upright manner.

Thank you. The Hotel Jardin Tecina in Playa Santiago. It's quite a good place to stay, as it is on a bus route and the ferry stops there, too.

La Gomera mid February

I went to La Gomera many years ago, mostly through Ray Stephenson's glowing account of the place. I was not disappointed then and this time was even better, because I knew the place and saw even more than last time.
