Re: Lithops: first moult, two heads

But at such a tender age? Must be uncommon...?

Re: Lithops: first moult, two heads

Hi David,

Were the seeds buy one get one free? ;)

I have not seen it in my small Cono collection but I have heard of multithops happening!

Re: Germination failures - any advice?

My indoor tomatoes, aubergines, sage, quinoa etc. are not coming up despite being in a warm spot.

Could it be that they somehow just know that spring is late?

Patience.... I have had seeds decide to pop up over a year late! They just want to make sure I appreciate it when they do pop.

Re: Shameful practice

Looks like the poor thing is in soggy peat to me. And why not take a photo of each one, rather than "one very similar to the plant in the picture" if it's such a precious specimen. Are they going to send it potted? There will be an almighty mess when the buyer opens their parcel. And £3.99...

Re: ugliest graft

That graft is nowhere near as ugly as Tina's. Those wooly tufts are gorgeous!

Mike, that is sad that with your TLC the poor plant didn't survive. Did you contact the nursery? If the stock was shrivelled on arrival they should have either replaced or refunded.

Re: Spring clean in the greenhouse

Good idea :) I had a bit of a clearout today and I think the staging is held together with cobwebs, weeds that have somehow snuck in behind the firewood, and general detritus from drying wood and kindling. Does it bleach green plastic staging? Although it can't do a tenth what the sun has already do...

Re: My new GH again

What a beautifully designed and built greenhouse, Maja. I am glad the wood has its protection. My house had wood fences all around, shed, trellis, etc. which were protected so long ago it was almost impossible to tell what colour the stain was. Now it's perfect :) so wood protection is a b...

Re: agave challenge

What a beauty Tina. I hope the repot goes well and you come through unimpaled.

I like the car sponges idea. And a helper! One to hold the sponges, one to fill around once it's in the new pot. And a hammer in case it won't come out of the old pot.

Re: Latest Tesco abomination

 I saw something different looking at these pics again. it seems that in the back view pic, not only can you see the lovely spines, but the cactus is sticking his finger up at Tesco. In this materialistic age, most people see a plant as an item to be bought on whim and discarded when bored, rat...
