If your feeling ethical avoid some products, checking where they are quarried etc. Peat is very prescioys and irs food to avoid it to prirect wildlife, reduce global warming and save water supplies. Peat is in many compost products...but you can buy peat free compost and use in your mix. If fibrous ...

Hi Henry, lots of useful replies and I might try lights too! I have found that some plants seem to harbour mealy bug all the time and that they can be reduced but not eliminated (even with chemicals) For example a heavily root bound plant will have crevasis in the soil where some will hide\survive. ...

Hi all, I have some stapeliad seeds, and I wondered should I be patient and wait to sow then indoors in early spring or could I sow them now indoors in a heated propagator (no additional lighting)

Cheers Ralph, anyone else. It will be an old cultivar or species. I think my Aunt collected these in the 70s. So realistically 50 years old.
